<br />
It's been too long since I've blogged. I've pretty much taken well over a year off, but 2015 is the year I make my come back. The new site will be a bit different than the old blog. I don't plan on doing as many step by step tutorials (there are soooo many good tutorial blogs already out there), but I do plan on still sharing my passion for creating, along with our newer journey into veganism, our oily regime, being a small business owner/mom and all the inspirations.<br />
<br />
I hope, whether you've been a long time follower of my blog or just stopped by from Pinterest you'll come on this journey with me.<br />
<br />
I'll be keeping this blogger blog up, for all those old DIY posts you all love, but if you would like to keep up with us check out <a href="http://kristanlynn.com/">kristanlynn.com</a> - it's still being updated, so please bear with me on this new transition.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<span style="font-size: large;">So I found myself with 3 sleeping kids... all at once this afternoon (insert singing angels here). We've finally transitioned Stone out of his crib... 2.5 years old... the size of a 5 year old... yea... it was time. And after the pediatrican looked at me like I was on crack because Abel was still sleeping in his rocking bassinet, I figured it was time to transition him into the crib. This meant we needed a new mobile. The <a href="http://www.kristanlynn.com/2011/10/dreamcatchers-tutorial.html" target="_blank">Dream Catcher mobile</a> I made for Stone is still around.. somewhere, but all the feathers have been picked apart by little fingers and I wanted something new. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I've been totally drooling over <a href="http://simonandruby.com/" target="_blank">Simon & Ruby's</a> new line. Especially all the new geometric necklaces. The <a href="http://simonandruby.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=429" target="_blank">Maggie necklace</a> was the inspiration behind the new mobile.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<span style="font-size: large;">This was super fast and easy to put together. I promise.. if I can do it, you can too. AND it was FREE, because I had everything on hand. If you had to buy all the supplies, it'd probably cost about $10 total, at most!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Here's what you'll need:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">• Felt [I used 6 different colors, you can use as many or little colors as you'd like]</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">• Embroidery Floss </span></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">• Needle</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">• Embroidery Hoop [only the inner part]</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"></span>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">OPTIONAL:</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><div style="text-align: left;">
• Liquid Stitch [or any other fabric glue. Super glue would probable work too]</div>
</span></blockquote>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs0SWgDVHR5jXhTbdxTpH5uoHzhEDqk-pVceDw5fwPLzGxRCV8EEivrNZ3pz0Bh0leYdRASq3qQ9FNkAIbmsxtS_Lbd93VlddirQ09XSEMwNotZA7AbXu50bxFxHpdie-iEQ6y4wYRZGeY/s1600/resized+steps.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs0SWgDVHR5jXhTbdxTpH5uoHzhEDqk-pVceDw5fwPLzGxRCV8EEivrNZ3pz0Bh0leYdRASq3qQ9FNkAIbmsxtS_Lbd93VlddirQ09XSEMwNotZA7AbXu50bxFxHpdie-iEQ6y4wYRZGeY/s1600/resized+steps.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b>STEP 1</b>: Cut triangles. I cut way too many! I ended up using <b>68</b> triangles. I found the most time efficient way to cut these is to draw a triangle onto cardstock and use it as a template. Then trace a line of them down the felt. Just stack up your felt, a few pieces at a time, and cut them all together.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">After getting them cut out, you can lay them out to see how you want to string them. Make it random, color blocked or ombr<i>é, </i>the choiice is yours.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b>STEP 2</b>. String the triangles. I peeled away one piece of thread from the floss. Around 1 yard in length. Put three stitches in the triangle, slide it down the floss and grab the next one to be strung.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">There are 7 triangles per strand. 9 strands and 1 bunting.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">The bunting is done the same way, but instead of stitching through the center, you stitch a long the top.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b>STEP 3</b>: Take two pieces of embroidery floss and form a +. Set your hoop over the +. Wrap each of the 4 loose strands around where it touches the hoop a few times. Once all four pieces are wrapped, grab the 4 loose ends and lift the hoop. This will form the hanging part. Make sure the hoop is level and tie a knot at the top of the strings.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b>STEP 4</b>: Start tying the strands of triangles to the embroidery hoop. I placed one in the center. and 8 evenly spaces around the hoop. Try to gauge how long you want them to hang. This isn't that big of a deal yet, but don't make them too short!!! You can trim them up later.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Tie the bunting between two strands from the hanging part.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b>STEP 5</b>: Once everything is tied up (double knotted) go through and place the triangles how you want them... moving them up or down. Once you have it how you want it, trim off the loose ends at the bottom, pretty close to the bottom triangle.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">[OPTIONAL]</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">STEP 6: To keep everything in place, dab some liquid stitch over the knots and stitches. There isn't really a need to do this to every triangle, as they stay pretty well. But, dabbing it along the bottom triangles would ensure no triangles fall off.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">That's it. 2 hours, start to finish... tops.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">I often get questions about what photo editing apps I use. I've tried dozens upon dozens, and have deleted most of them. I figured I'd share the ones I still have in my phone. These ones made the cut.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaVBrJXU5DAqYjZfU9YVNWO08HDKLTJFjsIK6NlcuF3rB5uUG8_7eWQWBTQEY_vUTkE6eAtuIq4SXSOCgxxUXqlP1QQZDNTNGHClorJ4VtGWr_sM01KCXedKd-cvL13jIsfP18TWk8A4WB/s1600/original+photo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaVBrJXU5DAqYjZfU9YVNWO08HDKLTJFjsIK6NlcuF3rB5uUG8_7eWQWBTQEY_vUTkE6eAtuIq4SXSOCgxxUXqlP1QQZDNTNGHClorJ4VtGWr_sM01KCXedKd-cvL13jIsfP18TWk8A4WB/s1600/original+photo.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">1. <b>Instagram</b>- I'm sure you already knew this. I mean, who doesn't have IG nowadays, besides Craig, because <i>he's too cool for school</i>. (<a href="http://instagram.com/kristanlynn" target="_blank">@kristanlynn</a>) It's becoming a huge social media tool for bloggers and even Etsy shops. I rarely use it to edit photo's, but when in a hurry, the valencia filter is my fav.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQmLP2Enmowss30IH0D4YfmUPZ-eAnIW-nN5A_HdSWXQSZ2oEr0KTRqIYivIY56ebze4MMMw0Gn25O_VlH_NMOXTkav8qhDHpQO-YV6dihcb-MjgANKu20-HllYGWBinwYPpbGHirYTJOW/s1600/instagram+edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQmLP2Enmowss30IH0D4YfmUPZ-eAnIW-nN5A_HdSWXQSZ2oEr0KTRqIYivIY56ebze4MMMw0Gn25O_VlH_NMOXTkav8qhDHpQO-YV6dihcb-MjgANKu20-HllYGWBinwYPpbGHirYTJOW/s1600/instagram+edit.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-size: large;">Usually, I'll take the picture with my the normal camera app and upload into:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-size: large;">2. <b>Afterglow</b>- A must have! It has tons of awesome filters and textures. The app filters are designed in Photoshop, so it's really an amazing app for phone pics! It has a cropping tool, fun borders and allows you to manipulate many things such as saturation, brightness, exposure, highlights, shadows, etc. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPegCDATrVA5vBvqKQUXejWfRGVFGpkpcesm3FBXobS1RBAqHNlOJuukYhNpa4u3G09KBK8JagPUpijCDdkqGR9Z0ghqnh7rndbye-pMw5pm1XEykqq5kqiOjlWLZfv1HGy0PCuIvgToZM/s1600/Afterglow+edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPegCDATrVA5vBvqKQUXejWfRGVFGpkpcesm3FBXobS1RBAqHNlOJuukYhNpa4u3G09KBK8JagPUpijCDdkqGR9Z0ghqnh7rndbye-pMw5pm1XEykqq5kqiOjlWLZfv1HGy0PCuIvgToZM/s1600/Afterglow+edit.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Now I might leave it like that, or if I'm looking for more textures, I'll upload the saved pic above into:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-size: large;">3. <b>PicsPlay Pro-</b> Awesome texture! It's the best bokeh effect app I've found (I've downloaded and paid for atleast a dozen)!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: large;">AND, we all know I like to over edit my photo's. HAH. So 9 times outta 10, I'll upload the above photo into:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-size: large;">4. <b>LensLight</b>- which has the best light leaks for tweaking images and adding depth.</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I have been planning these ornaments for awhile now. As Adelyn and I were searching for sea shells on <a href="http://www.kristanlynn.com/2012/08/destination-relaxation.html" target="_blank">our vacation</a>, I envisioned them. And they turned out just as I imagined.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>What you need:</b></span></div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-size: large;">clear glass bulb (Michael's or any craft store)</span></blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-size: large;">photo</span></blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-size: large;">sand and sea shells (optional)</span></blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-size: large;">twine or ribbon (optional)</span></blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-size: large;">any other embellishment you can think of.</span></blockquote>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b>How I made them:</b></span></div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">I started out by using <a href="http://www.kristanlynn.com/2012/05/mini-instagram-prints-diy-make-your-own.html" target="_blank">this tutorial</a> to print mini poloroids.</span></blockquote>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">THEN:</span></div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">I poured a little sand into the glass bulb and added some tiny sea shells. (which we had saved from Siesta Key beach)</span></blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Gently roll the photo (like you would a treasure map) and insert into the bulb. </span></blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Use tweezers to maneuver everything how you want it. I also used the end of a skinny paint brush to help move and flip things.</span></blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Add fabric or washi tape (in my case fabric tape) around the top and you're done.</span></blockquote>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">It really is that easy! And it's the perfect Holiday gift for close friends and relative.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">For the second ornament pictured, I just placed the photo into the bulb, and pushed a long string of jute inside using tweezer to manipulate it where I wanted.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzhNBfMguxD3ArUL7QsdoXD2cuA0BvmkVnwSZwRVE5Btd_OQV6ttewkOfYqQ5z3GKdBoTt1UYGegME6DWgkUP9ASzrFhuezK_H1S5km1pYOi8A-PnHtKTAEiptJwhvahhy95WCuiz_Kbg6/s1600/ornament+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzhNBfMguxD3ArUL7QsdoXD2cuA0BvmkVnwSZwRVE5Btd_OQV6ttewkOfYqQ5z3GKdBoTt1UYGegME6DWgkUP9ASzrFhuezK_H1S5km1pYOi8A-PnHtKTAEiptJwhvahhy95WCuiz_Kbg6/s1600/ornament+3.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">If you wanted to display them all year, just place a cork in the top. I wrapped my cork with fabric tape, because it was a tad too small, after adding the tape it fit perfectly. You can glue a little washer on the bottom, which will keep it standing upright, or take a Frappuccino cap, wrap with fabric and set it in there (like pictured).</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I hope you feel inspired to make your own special keepsake ornament! The possibilities are endless and you can really use anything that you can fit into the bulb.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I would love to see them if you make any, so feel free to share on <a href="http://facebook.com/adelynstone" target="_blank">Facebook</a>.</span></div>

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">These are so easy to make, and would add such a cute touch to any fall festivity you have planned!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b>To make the apple cup:</b> <span style="background-color: white; color: #333366; text-align: -webkit-center;"> </span>Cut off the top of an apple. <span style="background-color: white; color: #333366; text-align: -webkit-center;">U</span>se a melon baller to scoop out the inside, leaving about a 1/4" around the edge. Rub the edges with lemon juice to prevent the apple from browning</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Easy peasy.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b>Sparkling Cider Recipe:</b> 1 part cider. 1 part cranberry juice. 1 part sparkling water.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Add a cinnamon stick and VOILA!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">*The cinnamon stick is pretty important, as it adds to the flavor of the sparkling cider. If you don't have enough for each cupple, just add them straight into the pitcher.</span><br />

Well... I have a secret: I really love making things! OH, not a secret?? OK. Well, I especially love making things if it's a surprise gift for someone. Like, really really enjoy it.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">So I contacted Linda and let her know that if anyone backed out or couldn't fulfill their gifter duties, I would be happy to step in and make another little something. Sure enough, Linda contacted me moments after my message was sent and needed help. YIPPEEE!</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">This <a href="http://catloverandquiltmaker.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">giftee</a> mentioned how much she loved to hand quilt and embroider... so... here is the gift I made her:</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVlORxagI-S6ZPm6mAmHFY9o0mBlDPTjmKr2AxmgxN50iVZeIOB3bt0kpMygbGeVTjCqXHVyR5Z0vxss7iwye1ciDCTXnTB7J6xuTYyFwa_JTT3ndvIDnrrsunLJ2aACJPu2FOQaQPt4oX/s1600/giftee+pouch.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVlORxagI-S6ZPm6mAmHFY9o0mBlDPTjmKr2AxmgxN50iVZeIOB3bt0kpMygbGeVTjCqXHVyR5Z0vxss7iwye1ciDCTXnTB7J6xuTYyFwa_JTT3ndvIDnrrsunLJ2aACJPu2FOQaQPt4oX/s1600/giftee+pouch.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">A little sewing pouch. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">There's a place to hold all your pins, needles and safety pins, and a pouch for scissors and thread and whatever else you need to keep on hand.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhIx6m8K7RyMQ7pUH1uDoGT32TVH2FMYOjxq7HzAA7AqJjrgr4l0QgObl7vCJfFl8kvv89KvKBSRGPkgU7-0isDpIb0b_ll5pCgpTrZDG26ZHOYbffyTjsIyT2BNVzV3nHjQiJrSqJbGJk/s1600/full+pouch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhIx6m8K7RyMQ7pUH1uDoGT32TVH2FMYOjxq7HzAA7AqJjrgr4l0QgObl7vCJfFl8kvv89KvKBSRGPkgU7-0isDpIb0b_ll5pCgpTrZDG26ZHOYbffyTjsIyT2BNVzV3nHjQiJrSqJbGJk/s1600/full+pouch.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">My inspiration for this project came from my best blog friend (and first Gift Exchange <a href="http://retrohipmama.wordpress.com/2011/06/21/handmade-gift-exchange-is-complete-free-template/" target="_blank">partner</a>), <a href="http://retrohipmama.wordpress.com/" target="_blank">Andrea</a>. She rocks at embroidery! I remembered <a href="http://retrohipmama.wordpress.com/2011/07/14/have-hoop-will-travel/" target="_blank">this post </a>Andrea had written about a little sewing clutch she stitched up and knew it was what I wanted to make.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">And I did... but, some how, after sewing it all, turning it inside out and top stitching, It looked like a 5 year old made it! Everything was slanted to the right and basically it just SUCKED! Nothing like Andrea's stellar <i><a href="http://retrohipmama.wordpress.com/2011/07/14/have-hoop-will-travel/" target="_blank">Gettin' Stitchy Wit It </a></i>clutch. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">So I took her basic idea, and made something similar.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigSUZP__8y88mZ6tIu-47ZSDsD8Yeca8wsgIlKt1SY1jf1KQZPIOQpP08l9d_5oIsaaTYHf8K2ovkmG6n4AkBoP7teH7YkkJrcOZZthWqCU4jQsexL-vHRDAYgrgtFY8_DOz4pVWXRQkPE/s1600/pouch+bowl.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigSUZP__8y88mZ6tIu-47ZSDsD8Yeca8wsgIlKt1SY1jf1KQZPIOQpP08l9d_5oIsaaTYHf8K2ovkmG6n4AkBoP7teH7YkkJrcOZZthWqCU4jQsexL-vHRDAYgrgtFY8_DOz4pVWXRQkPE/s1600/pouch+bowl.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Then packaged it up with a few of my cards and some twine and gift tags made out of vintage inspired paper.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_nfmtMnHZ3ScNcKsP24bGLfYLDNV7O6YcZwtUlHlyWhUiH2tSRNnfTNf2VIk3vpkhMCRNbAwHlLQ42n9M_nXWFNaJ_vh_ISc2hV0T_nopRUrZWUJr7tFfjKd2JtOratEO9OAIKFyHiAMc/s1600/pouch+packaging.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_nfmtMnHZ3ScNcKsP24bGLfYLDNV7O6YcZwtUlHlyWhUiH2tSRNnfTNf2VIk3vpkhMCRNbAwHlLQ42n9M_nXWFNaJ_vh_ISc2hV0T_nopRUrZWUJr7tFfjKd2JtOratEO9OAIKFyHiAMc/s1600/pouch+packaging.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">After sending off this little beauty, I felt sad and wanted one of my own. So I made one for myself. Good thing, because I documented the basic process this time around and can now share with you how to make a vintage inspired sewing pouch of your very own.</span><br />
<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">After you have your fabric cut, hem the top of your pouch. Then sew the fabric that will hold your felt by folding it in half, right sides together and sewing the long sides together using 1/4" seam. Turn inside out and insert your piece of felt.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br />

</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">You can play with your scrap pieces and other trimmings to see where you want them on your outer fabric. I did this by folding the outer piece into thirds and using that as a guide. Once you get everything looking the way you like, pin it into place. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">(Note that there will be a 1/4" seem allowance after sewing it together)</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Head back over to the sewing machine and start stitching/appliquéing everything into place. You may have to take out some pins and move things around to get each piece of scrap stitched properly. I used a decorative stitch, but any stitch would work.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Add your button. </span><br />

</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">For the inner fabric, you will pin your hemmed pouch on the bottom, and your pin holder (felt inside) in the direct center. Be sure to stitch down any other trimmings you'd like.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Stitch down the top of the pin holder.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">If you'd like to keep your scissors and threads separate in the pouch, go ahead and mark where you'd like the scissor pouch to be and stitch down that line. (You do not need to sew up the sides of your pouch, as it will be stitched when we attach the outer and inner fabric)</span><br />

</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Next, place the outer and inner fabric right sides together and pin. Using a 1/4" seam allowance, sew the two pieces together... leaving the top open and unstitched for turning. </span><br />

<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">What I used:</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">Altoids tin, some lace, twine, a few strips of washi tape for decorating the outside <i>and making the mini bunting</i>.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><i>(The washi with the writing "love it - want it" is actually from the SMASH line. I got it on sale for $1 at Target!)</i></span><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">It was super fast and easy to whip up, using only tape! That's the fun with decorating with <a href="http://www.kristanlynn.com/2012/06/washi-tape-and-office-organization.html" target="_blank">washi</a>, there's no cutting or gluing, just rip and place. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">To adhere the lace, I covered the inner-top with washi tape- then covered that washi with strips of double sided tape. Lay on the strips of lace (starting at the bottom), press firmly and there you have it.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">The bunting is just a piece of twine with strips of washi folded over, then cut into shapes.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">It's perfect, because I need my cards out and easy to access daily, since I add them to all of the orders from the <a href="http://www.adelynstone.com/" target="_blank">shop</a>. <b>It's more of a display than a holder</b>, which will be great at all those indie craft shows I plan on attending <i>(::sigh:: one day)</i>.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Altoids tins are GREAT for repurposing projects! Check out my <a href="http://pinterest.com/kristanlynn/altoids-tins-one-tin-a-million-possibilities/" target="_blank">Pinterest board </a>full of fun inspiration. My favorite pin so far is this <a href="http://www.instructables.com/id/Pocket-sized-Watercolor-Altoids-Tin/" target="_blank">Travel Painting Kit</a>! Just a NOTE: I'm not the first person to think of using an Altoids tin as a business card holder, I've been seeing them everywhere... but they're not a new idea either... just check out <a href="http://blog.creativekismet.com/2009/01/14/altered-tin-business-card-holder/" target="_blank">creativeKISMET's holder</a> from over 3 years ago!</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">I'm totally loving the new kraft business cards and just as happy with the little quotes on the back of each card </span><i>(except for the missing E at the end of Shakespeare... which I photoshopped in so I wasn't bombarded with emails... ya win some, ya lose some. hah)</i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">What do you think?</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">What's your favorite way to repurpose an Altoids tin?</span>kristanlynn @ adelynSTONEhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04456406906603456073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-470426862797922207.post-21296257722647928202012-07-01T22:44:00.001-04:002012-07-18T13:38:01.678-04:00What I Made | Summer 2012 Gift Exchange with Craftaholics Anonymous<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Have you heard of Linda from <a href="http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net/" target="_blank">Craftaholics Anonymous</a>?! I'm sure you have, but if not, you should get to know her! Not only is she super <a href="http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net/craft-tutorials" target="_blank">crafty</a> and the owner of a <a href="http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net/my-craft-room" target="_blank">to-die-for craft room</a>, but twice a year she holds a <a href="http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net/summer-2012-handmade-gift-exchange-linky-party" target="_blank">handmade gift exchange, </a>one in the summer and the other right before Christmas. This is my 3rd exchange, and I'm never disappointed! The basics are, you sign up, draw a name and make that person a gift. Someone draws your name, and they make you a gift. Easy peasy, right?!</span><br />
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">If you missed out on this one, go over and <a href="http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net/gift-exchanges" target="_blank">sign up t</a>o get a reminder for the Winter exchange; which starts November 1st. Go ahead and check out the photo's of all the fun gifts made this time around over in the <a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/handmadegiftexchangesummer2012/" target="_blank">Flickr group</a> and at Linda's <a href="http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net/summer-2012-handmade-gift-exchange-linky-party" target="_blank">link party</a>. I'm beyond positive you'll find some great inspiration from other craft lovers! Plus, it's never too early to start thinking about those Christmas presents ;)</span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">My giftee turned out to be Courtney, a SAHM of two, who lives 2,500 miles away in the beautiful state of Washington. After stalking her <a href="http://www.elfster.com/home/" target="_blank">Elfster</a> likes and <a href="http://pinterest.com/kristanlynn" target="_blank">Pinterest</a> account, I knew what I wanted to make her. An apron; she had a few pinned and liked, and I figured an Anthropologie <a href="http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/baynote/983503.jsp" target="_blank">Tea & Crumpets apron</a> knock-off would be perfect!</span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Of course I wanted something to go with the apron, and what better item to accompany an apron than a recipe book?</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">I wanted something that could be customized to her needs. Something that she could write in, stick Grandma's handwritten recipe in or even just tape in a fun new recipe found in a magazine. So I opted to make a mixed media journal. Which turned out great, because I realized that she could really use it however she liked, holding recipes, photo's or whatever her heart desires.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">I have to admit, this was my first ever mixed media journal! And I'm hooked. It was a bit intimidating at first, trying to think of what papers to use and how to go about it. Once I got started cutting and stacking it was a piece of cake though.</span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Using oversized library cards, fabric, vintage papers, designer card stock, maps, washi tape, lace, a sewing machine and mini envelopes, it all pulled together perfectly! <i>(and to be honest, I wanted to keep it for myself. hah)</i></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">She can tape, glue, write or stuff in recipe's of her choice. And since I used book rings as the binding, she can easily add more pages to it! <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Packaging was easy enough. I wrapped the journal with a fat quarter of fabric. <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">So after looking at dozens of homemade lemonade recipes online, and them pretty much all being the same, I decided to just learn as I go... lemon, water and sugar.. how hard could it be? </span></div>

<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I opted for a pink lemonade, made with pomegranate juice instead of the normal cranberry. YUM! If you'd like to jut keep it plain, just leave out the pomegranate juice.</span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The reason I didn't add the spearmint directly into the pitcher was simply because I knew it would not be gone in one day. I didn't want gross soggy spearmint in my lemonade the following day. If you plan on serving at a party or BBQ, you could add the spearmint directly to your pitcher.</span><br />

I searched and searched, and while I found few great sites that were pretty cheap, I just couldn’t press “BUY”. Good thing, because I got over <strong>200 mini prints for $12!</strong> </font></p> <p><font size="3">The thing I love about Instagram, is it’s REAL LIFE. A sneak peak inside what is going on at that exact moment… whether it’s how someone is feelings, what they are seeing or doing… you are able to be right there following a long. And it’s is always a pretty journey! Cause Instagram makes <em>everything</em> pretty.</font></p> <p><font size="3">I’ve seen a quite a few cool ideas using the IG mini prints. Like Elsie’s </font><a href="http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/2012/01/how-i-made-my-instagram-wall.html"><font size="3">Instagram Wall</font></a><font size="3"> or turning them into old-school </font><a href="http://www.thecollegeprepster.com/2012/01/tutorial-instagram-photostrips.html"><font size="3">Photo Strips</font></a><font size="3"> with The College Prespster. </font></p> <p><font size="3">I’ve settled on making a scrapbook filled with snapshot of our daily life, inspirations and projects. Something not so traditional. Here’s a sneak peak of what is in store.</font></p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-OTXM90gyf_U/T6FY_juq9aI/AAAAAAAAIkw/Blb3eC-Ka8s/s1600-h/ig%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="ig" border="0" alt="ig" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-RWISve-e1go/T6FY_82j0ZI/AAAAAAAAIk4/PzSx296QnRg/ig_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="800" height="450" /></a></p> <p><font size="3">Cute huh?? I really wanted it to look non-traditional… kind of thrown-together”, but still cute. More details in a later post, but know that I am putting all my pretty Washi tape to good use!</font></p> <p><font size="3">Anyways, while I was making my mini IG prints and sharing the goodness on Instagram (go figure), I had a ton of people comment, FB, tweet and email about how they could make them or just state they NEED them now! So to answer most of the questions I received, I’ve thrown together a quick tutorial.</font></p> <p><font size="3">It’s really easy.. I’ve seen Photoshop tutorials out there… and well… Photoshop and I have barely hit first base… which makes me a little insecure around him. So, we’re going to use Picasa… because 1. it’s a FREE download if you don’t have it and 2. it’s way less complicated!!!</font></p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Y9zkZALPl7w/T6FZA73mOFI/AAAAAAAAIlA/GdTAqyN54jo/s1600-h/ig1%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="ig1" border="0" alt="ig1" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-aXDMG2sSLos/T6FZCGf4SLI/AAAAAAAAIlI/CND8x5DbHAM/ig1_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="800" height="450" /></a></p> <a class="pin-it-button" href="http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kristanlynn.com%2F2012%2F05%2Fmini-instagram-prints-diy-make-your-own.html&media=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe201%2Fkcarroll_03%2Fpin.jpg&description=A%20tutorial%20on%20how%20to%20make%20your%20own%20mini%20Instagram%20prints%20and%20mini%20Polaroid%20prints%20for%20around%2012%20bucks!" count-layout="horizontal"><img style="display: inline; float: right" title="Pin It" border="0" align="right" src="//assets.pinterest.com/images/PinExt.png" /></a> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size: 13pt"><font size="2" face="Century Gothic"><strong>TIP</strong>: Now you should have all your IG photo’s on your computer, because we all know how important syncing your phone is… but in case you don’t.. never fear! I did a few prints on 4 x 6 and they are super cute… super MINI… but super CUTE! (Secret, I did this to 10 or 11 pics that I just HAD to have in my scrapbook.)</font></span></p> <p><font size="3">While this is pretty basic, I know there are some people that are not familiar with Picasa, so I found this great in-depth step-by-step </font><a href="http://findingnana.com/?p=5332"><font size="3">photo tutorial</font></a><font size="3"> done by Finding Nana for you to check out. Office Depot has their HP semi gloss photo paper half off right now, so for 25 sheets I paid $12! That’s a total steal, because one of the places I checked out to make my mini prints offered 48 prints for $12. WHOA!</font></strong></p> <p><font size="3">Here’s a quick size comparison of the super mini’s, 8 square photo’s printed on 4 x 6 photo paper. <span style="font-size: medium; text-align: center;">Hey there adelynSTONE readers! I'm excited as ants on a cracker to introduce ourselves here today.</span></div>
<div align="left">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="text-align: center;">Today Janae is sharing with you a family favorite.</span></div>
<div align="left">
<span style="font-size: small;">Today, I am introducing one of my life savers to you. A homemade warm fuzzy. Just a bundle of microwavable warmth that puts a smile on my face. Whenever I don't feel so swell or I'm just cold at night, this thing works miracles! I have a million and one in my room. It's seriously one of my most treasured things I've ever made in my life. hahaha</span></div>

So I get a tone of emails asking about my hair. Actually… even random people ask me how I do it all the time. My sister does her hair the same way, and is also ALWAYS complimented on her hair and asked how she does it, so here ya go. (you are welcome)</span><br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-ZgLBWdPuDf8/Txr2EehKz2I/AAAAAAAAHHI/ZqCUEgHoLAg/s1600-h/photo%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img alt="photo" border="0" height="600" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-MU575tudHr0/Txr2FFDY77I/AAAAAAAAHHQ/ZZvZOtk5n2I/photo_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="photo" width="600" /></a><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">NOTE: I am NO hairdresser. hah. This is simply me sharing my hair routine.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">I have super fine hair. Baby fine.And it has NO natural volume to it whatsoever. If I just blow dry it… it’s stick straight and flat to my head. I know that my hair looks thicker but it’s just all the teasing (ratting) I do to my roots. So here is how I get my volume. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">FYI: I don’t use any product in my hair prior to blow drying. Just shampoo and conditioner and it’s then it’s blown dry upside down. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">*** NOTE: I use hairspray in step 2. Hairspray IS a product.... Hope that clears up some confusion..... this was never intended to be a way to style hair without product.... </span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: small;">There are 3 steps to the tease. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Step 1- Tease… I mean really tease… like RAT THAT SHIT. hah. Take your layer, put the comb at your root, and tease atleast 5 times, move the comb up a little bit, and do the same thing. You want about 3-4 inches teased, depending on your length. This is a crucial step, if you’re not teasing right, it won’t stay. (the Sister read through this to make sure I didn’t leave out anything and she made me put an extra emphasis on the teasing… see.. it’s important!)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Step 2. Spray a bit of hairspray onto your tease.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Step 3- Shoot it with the blow dryer to dry the hairspray.</span><br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-sCfMI8M2ujc/Twh2y7nxxvI/AAAAAAAAG2Y/88MCkn2ThIs/s1600-h/bump-it-yo5.jpg"><span style="font-size: small;"><img alt="bump it yo" border="0" height="800" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-UKuXPIOnieg/Twh20CoZqkI/AAAAAAAAG2c/Gl2EjXypCKc/bump-it-yo_thumb2.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="bump it yo" width="800" /></span></a><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">I start with the crown, usually do 3-4 layers. Then move onto the front 3-4 layers. After I’m done… it looks a bit crazy. Totally ok. Grab your trusty flat iron and smooth everything, root to end (making sure to pull straight up at the root for added lift).</span><br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-ZjyRz2lyb2s/Twh21duC_sI/AAAAAAAAG2o/Ov04s23EFoI/s1600-h/hair5.jpg"><span style="font-size: small;"><img alt="hair" border="0" height="800" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-HkjhUjvaUWE/Twh22UpmrDI/AAAAAAAAG2w/1KPUn7-Gtdg/hair_thumb2.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="hair" width="800" /></span></a><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">That’s pretty much it. Once every thing is smoothed out play with the pieces, you may have to go back in and tease a few random stubborn layers. Spray your whole head with hairspray. You’re done.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Whether it’s being worn down, being curled or put in a pony… my hair is always styled this way first.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">I’ve tried so many volumizing products and they all tend to make my hair look and feel gross, plus they weigh my hair down like whoa. I love Big Sexy Hair products, but since $20 hairspray isn’t in my budget right now, Tresemme is the best cheap hairspray for this job.</span><br />

Well… our floor is COVERED in those little spots. Sippy cups are not leak proof, and they are every where. It looked GREAT, but cost $30 for the cleaner and only lasted a few days with the kids. (Not to mention that $30 of cleaner barely covered our tiny living room).
